BEST FASHION TALENT 2024

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Live Bratislava has become a prominent event in our country over the past few years, and we were absolutely honoured to be part of this year’s edition. Alongside renowned Slovak designers, the event also hosts the prestigious Best Fashion Talent competition, which showcases emerging designers and their creative visions.

When the open call for the competition was announced, we saw an exciting opportunity to not only present our individual work but also highlight the growth and potential of our brand. We decided to apply with our bachelor’s degree projects, as well as some of the unique accomplishments we had already achieved with Gonoe. The process was highly competitive, and we were thrilled when we received a response from the Slovak Fashion Council suggesting that we apply as a brand rather than as individual designers. This recommendation felt like a natural fit, as we were both deeply committed to the continued development of Gonoe and its future in the fashion industry. We were selected to move on to the semi-finals, where we had the incredible opportunity to present our work to a panel of 8 esteemed judges, all of whom were experts with significant influence in the fashion industry, both in Slovakia and internationally. The feedback we received from the semi-finals was invaluable, and it was an exciting milestone for us to be recognised in such a context.

To our amazement, we made it into the top 3 finalists, which meant that we would have the honour of showcasing our collection on the runway at the MBFL in Slovak National Gallery in October 2024. Presenting our work in front of an even larger audience, including industry professionals, media, and fashion enthusiasts. The final catwalk was a thrilling moment of recognition, and we were beyond grateful and proud to not only be part of the show but also to take home the Best Fashion Talent 2024 award. 

Winning this award has been a significant milestone in our journey, and it has only fuelled our determination to push Gonoe further, both as a brand and as a creative force within the Slovak fashion scene and beyond. The entire experience has affirmed our belief in the power of collaboration, innovation, and staying true to our artistic vision. We are incredibly excited about the future and the next steps for Gonoe as we continue to evolve.
